Ten found guilty of digital abuse targeting Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has ruled against ten people for carrying out the online harassment of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced accusations of disseminating false claims regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to making defamatory statements about the pair's age disparity of 24 years.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the convicted individuals. The detailed judgment has yet to be released.
A longstanding conspiracy theory claiming that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has existed since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France coincides with the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the first lady's identity.
Their legal filing contends that Owens brushed aside any factual proof that refuted her assertions opting to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these claims on her digital program and online platforms, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she was a teacher at his high school.
The two entered into matrimony in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
